چکیده
Methods: The current study was a prospective randomized controlled double blinded conducted at Tanta University Hospitals for patients admitted to undergo elective thyroid surgeries period of 9 months. Inclusion criteria were aged 21 -65 y and ASA physical status I or II, prepared operation encouraged contribute the cases divided 2 equal groups (50 each) in random manner: Group (Control group): Sham Technique: received general anaesthesia plus US guided Bilateral SCPB with 10 ml NaCl 0.9% injected on both sides. II (Study total volume containing Bupivacaine 0.25% (5 0.5%- 5-ml bilaterally). Results: Postoperative QOR-15 score significantly elevated group comparison I; P value less than 0.001. Time 1st rescue analgesia higher < VAS 30min, 2hrs, 4hrs 6 hrs II: nevertheless, no statistically significant differences found between 8hr, 10hr, 12hr, 18hr 24hr; 0.005. opioid consumption reduced I: 0.001.Pre post-operative values diaphragmatic excursion revealed that there either same groups. Conclusions: Patients undergoing surgery showed improved global quality recovery after preoperative BSCPB. It decreased POP score, diminished intraoperative analgesic consumption, postoperative morphine maintained excursion.

Bilateral Superficial Cervical Plexus Block Alone or Combined with Bilateral Deep Cervical Plexus Block for Pain Management After Thyroid Surgery
Background and Objectives: Patients undergoing thyroid surgery need postoperative pain management. Bilateral superficial cervical plexus block (BSCBs) has been shown to improve postoperative analgesia. The objective of this study was to assess its analgesic efficacy in the first 24 hours after thyroid surgery alone and when combined with bilateral deep cervical plexus block (BDCBs). Methods: We...
متن کاملRandomized controlled trial of bilateral superficial cervical plexus block versus placebo in thyroid surgery.
BACKGROUND Bilateral superficial cervical block during thyroid surgery can reduce postoperative pain but its value is unclear. This randomized clinical trial assessed the efficacy of such regional anaesthesia on postoperative pain after thyroid surgery performed under general anaesthesia. METHODS Patients undergoing thyroid surgery were randomized to one of four groups in a double-blind fashi...

متن کاملHorner’s Syndrome after Superficial Cervical Plexus Block
Ultrasound-guided nerve blocks are becoming more essential for the management of acute pain in the emergency department (ED). With increased block frequency comes unexpected complications that require prompt recognition and treatment. The superficial cervical plexus block (SCPB) has been recently described as a method for ED management of clavicle fracture pain. Horner's syndrome (HS) is a rare...
متن کاملThe Effects of Ultrasound-guided and Anatomic landmark-based Superficial Cervical Plexus Block on Post-operative Pain Intensity in Thyroidectomy Patients: A Clinical Trial
Background and Objective: Pain is one of the most common complications after thyroidectomy. Opioid administration can overcome this complication, however, it has some side effects, including nausea and vomiting. So, the use of local anesthetic instead of opioids is a good alternative. This study was conducted to evaluate and compare the effect of ultrasound-guided superficial cervical plexus bl...
